Vinicius Ayrão is an electrical engineer with over 30 years of experience in low- and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure. He works on design, construction, commissioning, inspection, and technical consulting for distributed generation projects, energy storage (BESS), electric mobility, and consumer substations.He participated in the development of over 500 MW of solar photovoltaic projects and served on the ABNT committee responsible for drafting the first edition of NBR 16690. This workshop is for solar integrators working in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, and focuses on real-world use of battery energy storage systems (BESS). It addresses where BESS genuinely adds value, its technical, economic, and regulatory limitations, key practical applications, common design errors, and the essential aspects of electrical tie-in and the Brazilian regulatory framework. The workshop enables integrators to make safe, informed decisions and develop solutions based on engineering rather than marketing.
